A few upgrades and the new Sprite system

Hello again.

With the preparations done, it was time to make a few changes to the code. I updated the engine to Godot 4 and decided to use Dialogic instead of Ink. It does everything I was trying to do, but better.

I quickly sketched some placeholder sprites and gave them a blinking animation to see how difficult it would be to work with it. It was easy. Too easy, in fact. So I added flat colours to the sprites, recycled a few backgrounds from the prototype, and created a simple script that allows me to colour the sprites based on the background.

It's just a colour rect with the blend mode set to multiply. It's such a simple thing, but it adds so much to the scene. It can even make my rough sketches look good.

And with that, I now have everything I need to finish the game. The first test build will come very soon, so if you care about that, make sure you join my Patreon. Otherwise, if you only want to support me, you can do so through my Buy Me a Coffee.

That's it for now. Thank you for reading. Now stop procrastinating and get back to work.
